My Career Path

I am a Hospitality Major. I really hope that once I graduate I can move south and work as a hotel/resort manager. I would love to be in charge of the front desk and working directly with customers. I think that I would make a good manager of a hotel or resort because I work well with others. You must know how to do this because you are working with a staff and you need to of course be their boss but you also want to be able to relate to them and be able to work with them if you want a smooth running operation. I also think I would be good at this because I am a little bit of a people pleaser. I love to see people happy and I think if I work for a resort or somewhere in the tourism field I would get to make a lot of people happy. I think that to make the customer good memories you must be able to make their stay at your hotel/resort a happy stay. Lastly I think an important skill I have to strive in this field is organization. If you are going to be a manager you must have a plan for everything and everything must be organized. You must have a plan for if there is a fire, robbery, death, short staff, etc and you must know how to stay calm when things are happening which I am also very good at. Organization also comes into play because you deal with a lot of different tasks and you must know where your files are for each thing. This is just a brief summary as to why I think that I will make a good hotel manager one day

  3. Apple: I am not sure which hotel/resort I would like to work for but I feel like working for Disney would be fun. My teachers always have speakers from there and I feel Disney offers a lot of opportunities for advancement in their industry. Also, if I did the Disney program internship it would make it so easy to get hired there because I would of already went through the training process. I hope to do that one of these semesters before I graduate

Kevin: I would really love to work in Florida I feel that there are tons of opportunities down there since it is a large tourist state. If I didn't move to Florida I would still like to move south more than anywhere and my next stop would most likely be South Carolina. I would rather move south than west because it would be easier to visit family and whatnot that way.
