Career Path

As far as my "career path" is concerned I believe I am on it and am close to going beyond Indiana, PA to NYC. It is there, which I plan to work within adult education as an instructional designer or corporate trainer. I have learned many valuable lessons in my pursuit of my MA and gained valuable experience as Technology Manager at IUP and as ESL Instructor for Adults at ARIN IU28. I consider myself lucky to have acquired a wealth of working experience which may give me a leading edge among the competition.

In my role as Technology Manager at Eberly School of Business and Information Technology at Indiana University of Pennsylvania I've had the opportunity to work with several teams of talented individuals. Coordinating and working with Lab Managers, Research and Development, and Graphic Art teams, we cover a large range of services to faculty and students. I manage not only my own time sensitive projects myself but initiating, guiding, and assisting individuals within groups and individual projects is part of my daily routines. I have gained valuable insight on leadership and teamwork in my role at Eberly.

Some of you may have not know, I also work part time as an ESL Instructor for Adults at ARIN IU28. ARIN IU28 is an intermediate unit, we provide educational support to learners of all ages in Armstrong and Indiana Counties. I am fortunate to instruct conversational English and culture to a great group of international individuals who make up our community. They are passionate about learning and our class is like a breath of fresh air. Instructing at ARIN has caused me to advance me in planning and delivering content to adult learners while in pursuit of my Masters of Arts in Adult Education and Communication Technology.

These opportunities through at IUP and ARIN IU28 have provided the benefit of daily reflection on my personal practice as an instructor, instructional designer and manager. I feel like I am prepared to take my career to the next level and encourage others to do so. If you feel insecure about how you fit in, strongly consider taking action to get on your career path. One of the best ways is through volunteer work. That is how I landed my job at ARIN IU28. Ask your departmental faculty where you may find the right opportunity. You will discover that volunteering can be priceless, give it a try. And good luck to you all on your "career path."

Career Path

Because I have two majors I plan on furthering my education in both degrees. With the way this economy is going things are only going to get harder and harder and soon a college degree will be equivalent to a high school degree so getting my MBA and Psy.D. is very important to me. All I honestly want to do is take care of my mother, as age slowly climbing up the latter for her I do not want her to do any hard labor work. I just want her to enjoy the rest of the time she has here on earth, simply put "live off my money."
After college I am considering joining the Navy or the Air Force because not only because I've always wanted to be a pilot but I feel like there's a lot more opportunity's joining after getting a college degree. While finishing my contract I will then go for my MBA in International Relation because being from Haiti I want to own a couple business out there and start a non profit org for that I plan starting here in the US first. After getting my MBA I will then purse my Psy.D degree in Neuropsychology. Dont think it will be right after but definitely later on in my late 30'S or 40's to keep this brain constantly making new neurons to decrease the chances of me getting dementia. I also would like to help my mom start a school in haiti. She always wanted her own school so that would be really nice if I can do that. This is my career path and my way of becoming a successful man.

Career Path

Finding the right career path for me was challenging at the beginning of my college experience. I was not sure what I liked and what I was good at. It was only after I started working with technology when I discovered that I had a passion for it. I tried to learn as much as I could in the last two years of college so I could graduate and apply my skills to a suitable job position. Now that I have almost finalized with my studies at IUP, I feel more confident and ready to take on a job that will allow me to combine my business and technical skills.

Career Path..

My career path, my choices.. I often seriously sit and wonder how will I make it to where I want to go... Sometimes I kick myself wishing I'd started sooner.. I don't really know how I'm going to get there.. I do know where I want to be.. I think that my plan of hopefully submitting to some film festivals and doing an internship with the U.K. would definitely be beneficial and help me take that first step to where I need to be.. But nothing's for sure.. Sometimes I wonder if I'm too much of a dreamer and spend too much time in fantasy land.. But most times, I know.. I'm somehow headed in the right direction.. Everyone takes missteps but, I think for the most part, I'm going to where I need to be.. -fingers crossed-

My Career Plans (as of right now)

I am an English and Religious Studies major. My plans regarding what to do with these programs of study change faster than the weather, but I am pretty sure at this point I am planning to pursue an MA in Theology with an emphasis on Biblical Studies following my undergrad. With that, I’d like to work as a director of formation or religious education within a faith based organization and design curriculums for catechism based on social justice and radical Catholic social teaching along the lines of Dorothy Day (if you don’t know who she is, look her up! Her story is amazing.). I’m also thinking about getting an MFA in either poetry or fiction somewhere down the line and trying to get published (easier said than done).

Career Path

Majoring in Criminology has not made me want to become a police officer, although the path I want to go into I have to do 3 years of service before I can actually do my dream job. My dream job would be to become a criminal investigator. Recently, actually just yesterday, something may have changed that. I realized that becoming a criminal investigator I would be able to help find out why people commit crime, harm people, etc. but I wouldn't be stopping them. There is a video I watched, some may have heard of it, some may have not. It's called Kony 2012, it's about a Ugandan man who abducts children for his own personal army. As much as I could go on about this subject, it's better if you just watch the video. (http://vimeo.com/invisible/kony2012) From watching this video, I realized I still want to be a criminal investigator, but I want to be able to stop the "bad guys" from harming anyone else, I want to save someone, I want to make a difference in someones life. As far fetch as that dream may be, I plan to do something about it.

Career Path

The time has finally come, to decide what I want to do with my major. I'm open to a lot of new ideas in the technology field to see where that takes me. I used to be a computer science major but I switched to MIS. I think I just want to see were life takes me. Right now, I'm currently job hunting in the Pittsburgh Area. I've always loved technology and I like the Pittsburgh so  I think that'll be a good fit for me to start my career, where ever that maybe.
